Lee Jung-Ja

Abstract
This study was designed to compare figures, symbolic relationship and the psychological expression between the depressed and the normal undergraduates in the sand tray play. The objects of this study were the first and the second year undergraduates of S university in Y city who were willing to participate in this research. The number of the students were 40. I divided them into two groups, a depressed group and a normal group, each 20 persons, and carried out an frequency analysis and non-parametric test. The outcome of the research were like below: First, figures were tested to be valid in person and building. Secondly, the depressed students showed 45% point in the low confused relationship and the normal students 70% point in the high personal relationship. This means that there is a meaningful statistical difference in the symbolic relationship. Finally, the depressed students showed 40% point of anxious/frightened expression and the normal students 25% point of comfortable/ peaceful expression. In addition, the depressed students showed no satisfied/positive point but the normal students 30% point. This result means there is a difference statiscally in the psychological expression.
